BEFORE YOUR SURGERY FAQS
Yes. You will be contacted a few days prior to surgery by a member of our nursing staff. This call will include a routine health assessment, instructions for the day of surgery, and answers to any questions you may have.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING THE DAY OF MY PROCEDURE?
Please bring your photo identification and your insurance card(s).
WHAT MAY I EAT OR DRINK BEFORE MY PROCEDURE?
Nothing to eat or drink after midnight before your surgery. It is very important that you follow the provided instructions. If you do not, your surgery may be delayed or cancelled.
SHOULD I ARRANGE A RIDE TO THE FACILITY?
Yes. You will not be allowed to drive yourself home after surgery. Please arrange to have a trusted friend or family member remain with you at the surgery center then drive you home.
SHOULD I TAKE MY ROUTINE MEDICATIONS THE DAY OF MY PROCEDURE?
During your pre-operative phone call, you will be given specific instructions regarding medications. However, if you are diabetic you will be instructed to NOT take your insulin or blood sugar medication the morning of surgery.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
For your comfort, we encourage you to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing., preferably with a top that buttons in the front. You will NOT be required to change into a hospital gown for your procedure. Please avoid wearing any jewelry, piercings, nail polish and cosmetics, and leave all valuables at home.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?
You will receive instructions regarding arrival time during your pre-operative phone call. It is important that you arrive at the designated time.
